Science is a means of acquiring knowledge about the natural world that we can trust and rely upon. Scientific knowledge is based on evidence and experimentation. As we learn more, we theorize more and experiment more to extend our understanding of the world. Sometimes what we learn challenges previously accepted assumptions, and even reveals how little we actually know.
Research takes time and money, and often those who provide the money are interested in certain outcomes that benefit themselves, so the scientists who accept research money do so knowing that certain results are desired and find ways to make their research yield those results. That's where we are today, unfortunately.

Science thrives on skepticism, and we aim to promote skepticism wherever "science" is being used to uncritically accept claims that promote an agenda, a great deal of which seems to be going right now.
